Scientific Advisory Board
The scientific advisory board are experts in their respective fields who review our progress to date, share advice and ideas on our research and help us plan our strategic goals
John Fitzgerald
Business Engagement Portfolio Manager at EPSRC, ensuring reporting by the Partnership and advising how it can work with UKRI.
Valerie Jamieson
Development manager at the UKAEA Fusion Cluster, Valerie brings together industry, academia, and government to promote and accelerate efforts towards Fusion energy.
Carolyn Kuranz
Carolyn is Director for the Centre for Laboratory Astrophysics at the University of Michigan. Her research interests include high-energy-density plasmas, hydrodynamic instabilities, radiation hydrodynamics, and magnetized plasmas.
Paul McKenna
Professor of Physics at Strathclyde University. Paul’s research focuses on ultra-intense laser-plasma interactions, including the development and application of laser-driven particle and radiation sources, plasma optics and photonics, and high field science.
Charlotte Palmer
Lecturer at Queens University Belfast. Charlotte explore laser plasma interactions, focused on the use of high power lasers for plasma based particle acceleration at multi-Hz repetition rates and recreation of astrophysical phenomena relevant to magnetic fields and cosmic ray physics in the laboratory.
Steve Rose
Professor of Plasma Physics at Imperial College London. Works in High Energy Density Plasma theory, in particular opacity and radiation transport effects. Has sat on both EPSRC and STFC panels, and advised the National Ignition program in the US.
